EXPERIENCE

james-mcleodI have been a class teacher at The Redeemer C.E.P School since 2008 and P.E. and Sport Subject Leader since 2009.

As part of my role as P.E. and Sport Subject Leader I have been responsible for ensuring P.E. and Sport is a core component of school life. This responsibility has entailed delivering Staff Meetings to colleagues in my own school as part of my P.E. and Sport Subject Leader Role with focuses such as the new curriculum, schemes of work, CPD opportunities and the School Sport Premium. I have delivered a presentation to School Governors on the School Sports Premium and the impact of the funding. Moreover, I have also mentored staff on a one to one basis in improving confidence and expertise in teaching P.E. through confidence and skills audits, observations, modelling and team-teaching. Furthermore I have worked with staff from other schools as part of my own school’s ‘School to School’ support programme. This work included shadowing, modelling of good practice and observations. In 2013 I was also designated as a Specialist Leader in Education. More recently this role has involved delivering Initial Teacher Training to ‘Schools Direct’ students in P.E. and School Sport, receiving excellent feedback on the impact of this training on those participants. Currently, I am also Year 6 Class teacher at The Redeemer C.E.P. school.
